Job Description :
Our client is a growing construction company with a focus on commercial businesses throughout the DC-Metro area. They are currently seeking a CFO to join their team in Largo, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 4, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
- Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, to support strategic decision-making and ensure financial stability.
- Manage month-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with project managers to monitor project financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support business growth and profitability objectives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and integrity within the finance team and across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management, with a focus on the construction industry.
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Expertise in Viewpoint Spectrum software or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Solid understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing and revenue recognition.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision in financial reporting.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.
