Our client is a growing financial institution based in the DC area. They are currently seeking a Chief Account Officer to join their finance team.
Responsibilities:
The Chief Accounting Officer will be a strategic leader within the Bank responsible for the oversight of accounting policy and implementation. A successful Chief Accounting Officer will accomplish this while collaborating with cross-functional teams and provide strategic direction to best support financial accounting and timely reporting which supports key decision-making. This position reports to and the Chief Financial Officer.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics or related discipline.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Proficiency in complex accounting systems and determining accounting treatment.
- 15+ years of accounting experience.
- 5+ years of SEC reporting.
- Extensive Financial Institution experience including managerial roles and executive or board level presentations.
- Ability to align financial planning strategies with overall business goals.
- Advanced analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights to senior leaders.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to senior leaders.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of banking as it pertains to performance metrics, regulatory metrics and peer analysis.
- Strong knowledge of bank financial statements.
