Job Description :

This Manager of Technical Accounting position is a newly created opportunity within a publicly traded organization and renewable energy investment sector leader. This is an opportunity to join one of the first publicly traded companies dedicated to investments in climate change solutions within energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other sustainable infrastructure markets. The Manager of Technical Accounting position will work within a growing team based at the corporate headquarters (remote flexible) and be responsible for evaluating the appropriate accounting for investment transactions as well as the subsequent accounting for certain complex transactions. In addition to excellent benefits and career mobility, this position will offer a base salary range between $150,000 and $170,000 based on experience plus a competitive annual bonus target of 25%, plus stock. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with 5 plus years of experience including candidate directly from public accounting to transition into one of the regions most respected organizations dedicated to climate-positive investments with over $5B in assets under management.


 


Job Description



  • Responsible for evaluating the appropriate accounting for investment transactions as well as the subsequent accounting for certain complex transactions.

  • Collaborating with the Investments team to assess the impacts of transaction terms on accounting outcomes

  • Drafting and reviewing accounting position memos to document our finalized accounting conclusions for investment transactions as well as select other technical accounting matters

  • Collaborating with joint venture partner accounting teams in the preparation of investment income/loss allocations

  • Reviewing select income/loss allocations using the hypothetical liquidation at book value method

  • Assisting with the preparation and evaluation of the allowance for credit losses using the current expected credit loss model (CECL)

  • Contribute to the operating effectiveness of our compliance with a Sarbanes-Oxley (404) internal controls environment

  • Assisting with the quarterly asset impairment analysis

  • Review, research, interpret and provide technical support on accounting issues to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, and SEC regulations.


 


Job Requirements



  • 5 plus years of experience in public accounting with publicly traded SEC client exposure

  • CPA certification

  • Public accounting experience working with publicly traded companies subject to SOX internal control requirements

  • Demonstrated experience of technical accounting research

  • Experience drafting accounting position memos

  • Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of the hypothetical liquidation at book value method for equity method investment income/loss allocations

  • Industry exposure within investment, energy, or financial services industries experience is preferred
