Senior Fund Accountant – Private Equity, Owings Mills, MD (Hybrid)
The Senior Fund Accountant position is a newly created opportunity to join an industry leading global venture capital and private equity investment firm headquartered in the Owings Mills, MD area outside of Baltimore. As a key member of the company’s new fund administration division, this individual will be responsible for financial reporting for both several investment funds both in-house and for associated partnerships. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with public accounting looking to pivot into an internal private equity role and will offer a competitive compensation package in the $120,000 to $130,000 plus excellent benefits and career mobility. The company is currently working in a hybrid remote flexible work schedule 2-3 days in the office per week.
Senior Fund Accountant - Job Description
- Prepare weekly accounting schedules
- Prepare monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations
- Prepare quarterly financial statements
- Prepare schedules for the annual audit and interact with auditors for year-end audit
- Assist in managing cash flow needs
- Assist in preparation of fund communications for our investors, including Limited Partner requests including distribution and Capital Call Notifications, assist in quarterly reports, assist with K-1 and tax related forms, assist with LP Transfers
- Maintain financing document files, general ledgers, partner database
- Create and maintain an effective control environment
- Assist in file maintenance/organization and other administrative tasks
- Various other tasks, projects and deadlines that arise in relation to above
Senior Fund Accountant - Job Requirements
- 3 or more years of professional experience within public accounting or related internal fund accounting experience.
- Industry exposure in private equity or venture capital preferred either through public accounting or direct fund accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA preferred.
- Working experience with GAAP
- Ability to work in office 2-3 days per week
